    Options Trading

    Options trading Bloodbath.

What a difference a day makes...

What yesterday was a PLUS balance of +$1,890 has turned into, just 26 hours later into a NEGATIVE balance of -$90.  Christ, what a clusterfuck of just biblical proportions.  Google's stock has lost $45 as of 9:25 A.M.

    This is just fucking unbelievable.

More Projecting from Bert: "You should feel guilty about my GOOG debacle"

For the 2nd time in less than a week, Bert has attempted to blame me for the debacle he suffered with his Google options last Monday.

A few weeks back, I mentioned to him that Robert Scoble had written in his blog that Google was set to make a big announcement on Monday, November 5th.  This last week, at some point, I came across a posting somewhere on the Internet that was warning that Google was going to "delay" their big announcement until Friday, November 9th.

Well, based on that tidbit of info from regarding the delay of the announcement, Bert made a move on his Google holdings that cost him a significant amount of money.  Bert's game plan all along leading up to Google's announcement was to buy before and sell right after, hopefully timing the sale to be right at the 'peak' of the expected surge in the price og Google shares after their announcement.

He did ZERO VERIFICATION and RESEARCH on his own and acted on that single piece of information.  Now, of course, since it turned out to be a really bad move, Bert is understandably upset and looking to vent his frustration on who he feels is the responsible party.

But I wonder, if, the delay had actually taken place, and as a result of the delay he had additional time to re-position himself for a stronger buy of Google options leading up to the actual announcement, just how much credit he would be giving me as the source for the additional time to build a stronger position in Google.

It's always the same with him.  He's quick to lash out when something doesn't go his way, but he is really, really hesitant to dole out credit whenever he gets an assist.  In other words, he's extremely liberal with ladling out fault but amazingly stingy when it comes to handing out credit.

I have a solution, though.  I am just going to STFU when it comes to anything that has to do that can be even remotely construed as "advice" or as a recommendation in regards to anything pertaining to financial matters.

I am tired of Bert's antics and I am tired of him projecting on me.  If I don't say anything, he can't unjustly blame me for his rash, ill-thought-out, reckless options trading habits.

    1st Options purchased at OptionsXpress

Just completed my 1st purchase at OptionsXpress.  I purchased a single contract of GOOG.  Now to see how it goes.  This is a little nerve-wracking, but exciting at the same time.

There is potential to make some money here.

    Opening an OptionsXpress account

    Enough.

Having to listen to a certain someone detail to me how he made $22K on an options trade of MSFT stock, I decided once and for all to open an account with OptionsXpress and stop dithering and cooking my liver while not taking action on this.

So, open the account I did and after logging in to do some tentative "virtual trading", I became immediately overwhelmed with all of the tabs, buttons, tools, etc. that are available to me.  I am going to have to devote some serious brain cycles to this project in order to use it effectively.

I am excited at the prospect, though.  I think I have a better than 50-50 chance at increasing my income stream.  We'll see how it goes.

At least today I took the 1st, critical step on this journey towards financial independance.
