I wrote back on 17 April that I was “back” and that I would be journaling regularly the way I was before.
Fast forward 65 days and I made a SINGLE additional entry in this blog, the very next day, as it so happens. So, my commitment at that time lasted exactly one day. That’s horrible.
However, today I was going through my Google Reader feed items and I came across a post by Wil Wheaton in which he talks about an incident in his life from 2003 when he was navigating some tough times. In his post he talks about going back in time and talking to the 2003 version of himself and reassuring that guy that everything will (eventually) be ok.
That really got me to thinking that as fast as I think life is going right now, it’s probably only going to accelerate going forward and I am going to regret not having kept a regular record of the events in my life as they are transpiring now.
So, with that in mind, I am going to start writing in this journal again on a regular basis, if only for the sake of having a record to look back on when I am 45, 50, 55 and beyond.
Although, come to think of it, I am 11 years away from being 55. WHO KNOWS what things are going to be like in 2021, assuming I and the rest of planet Earth make it that far?
I do know one thing: It’s sure going to be interesting, that’s for sure.
