Halloween 2008

Horrible Fucking Halloween

-Worked from home.
- Breakfast at Denny's at 0900.
- Made a deposit at NGC FCU for A.J. to buy his sofa.
- Talked to Isa in the AM about Halloween stuff.  She is all tweaked.
- I talked to Bert from Denny's.  He seemed upset.  Not surprising of course, considering how much he hates Halloween.
- A.J. came home around 1400.
- We watched Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban for a little while.
- Isa came by for Halloween around 1800.
- We picked up David and Sebastian around 1815, and then we had dinner at Wendy's around 1830.
- Halloween SUCKED.  We didn't go trick-or-treating, no movie watching, etc.  NOTHING.
- A.J. and I bought my Toshiba 32" LCD flat screen TV at the Ken Cranes in Lawndale on 147th at 1940.  I paid $944.00 for it, including a 5-year warranty and an $80.00 HDMI cable.
- Scrabble SUCKED!  My aura was extra black, I lost both games, the cover I bought for Hermes didn't fit, etc.  On the bright side, I got an Electronic Coin Counter jar from Patty.  Yay!

Friday, October 31: Halloween 2008

• Worked from home
• Breakfast at Denny's at 0900
• I made a deposit of $$ at NGC FCU for A.J. to buy his sofa
• I talked to Isa in the A.M. about Halloween stuff. She is all tweaked.
• I talked to Bert from Denny's.  He seemed upset.
• A.J. came home about 1400.
• We watched HP III for a little while.
• Isa came by for Halloween at 1800.
• We picked up David and Sebastian at 1815.
• We had dinner at Wendy's at 1830.
• Halloween SUCKED. We didn't go trick-or-treating, no movie watching, etc.  Just a horribly negative vibration.  It was unlike anything I have ever felt before.  Really unsettling.
• A.J. and I bought my flat screen T.V. at the Ken Crane's in Lawndale (Inglewood and 147th)
  @ 1940.  I paid $940 for it, including a 5 year extended warranty and a $80.00 HDMI cable.
• Scrabble SUCKED!  Black aura, lost both games, my new hard-shell cover didn't fit on Hermes, but on a brighter note, I did get a coin counting jar from Patty.  Yay!

Testing MarsEdit, a blogging tool for OS X

This is a test post from MarsEdit, a blogging toold that runs on Mac OSX. This post is being created from my home office in Lawndale, CA and I am running this instance of MarsEdit on Zeus, my 24" iMac. Today is Friday, October 31, 2008 and it's All Hallow's Eve. This concludes the test of MarsEdit on the Mac.

Thursday, October 30

- Worked From Carson.
- Got two texts from Aritxa, asking me for re-image help.
- Arrived home at 1330.
- Time Warner came by @ 1445 to re-install the Cable box in A.J.'s room.
- I watched Constantine in my office.
- I had dinner at Versailles in MB with the wife.
- We bought a new living room set at Easy Life in Torrance on Hawthorne Blvd. across the street from the Galleria for $2,276.00
- I checked out the 32" 720p High Definition sets for my bedroom.
- While at Best Buy checking out the High-Def TV's, I bought a $50.00 RED protective shell case for Hermes, my 15" Mac Book Pro.

Wednesday, October 29

• Worked from Carson today. 
• The spousal unit was home on her day off.
• Unfortunate, testy exchange with Bert over the Rojas Inc. email and domain name issues.
• I completed (finally!) the Rojas Inc Domain name and Email switch from Earthlink to Network solutions as his new hosting provider.  The transfer was completed at 0930.
• Met A.J. and Cindi at T Mobile after work. I bought A.J. a T Mobile Sidekick for $300.00
• Watched American Gangster and ate Pizza for dinner with them after coming home from T Mobile.
• OK visit with Mom, although she was a little frustrated.

Tuesday, October 28: Angst

I haven't the dammdest idea what the hell I am supposed to do about the general over all level of flakiness, drama and angst being displayed by my significant other these days.

At 1115 she calls me up and starts up with the "I wanna fly off to Mexico for no good reason" routine again, thereby absolutely frustrating the hell out of me. It's like some kind of weird, annoying coping mechanism that she uses to avoid dealing with the stuff around the house that is pressing.

I left Carson today at 1630 and after resting at home for about half an hour, we drove over to Versailles to have dinner.  After dinner we came back home and I watched a repeat episode of Fringe on FOX.

Actually, by the early afternoon and evening, Reyna seemed to be feeling much better. 

Whatever the fuck ever, Like Denzel sez in Training Day.

Monday, Otober 27: A New Car

Quiet day.  Events:

• Worked from Carson today.
• Home by 1230, having stopped at the Denny's @ Rosecrans for lunch first.
• A.J. n Cindi stopped by to show us Cindi's new car.  It is a beautiful, black Hyundai Ellantra.  I hope it brings them both a lot of happiness.  Congratulations, Cindi!
• I managed to get Parallels working on Hermes, finally.  Yay!
• Installed Windows NT 4 on Hermes (worked flawlessly).

Windows Live Writer Test

I am writing t his post from Windows Vista running as a VIRTUAL MACHINE under VMWare Fusion for Mac from Hermes, my brand new, bad-ass 15" MacBook Pro that I bought 9 days ago from the Apple store in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Vista runs good on this Apple Laptop. Even as a virtual machine.  I have to see how to adjust the graphic capabilities, but other than that, it's running great.

Cool.

Sunday, October 26: Life

• Breakfast at Piggies at 0910
• Plan to help Aritxa re-image her PC
• No resolution found to the Frostwire/JRE Java issue on Aritxa's PC
• We spent the afternoon at Cindi's house, installing a wireless router for them so that A.J. and Cindi can use their laptop and iPod Touch on the Internet.
• I then spent the rest of the evening in my office listening to podcasts and installing Windows Vista on Hermes, my MacBook Pro via VMware Fusion.  Worked absolutely perfectly.

Saturday, October 25: Ho, hum

Another Saturday:

• Breakfast at Piggies
• Initiated Domain transfers for Bert
• A.J. was at home today to play soccer
• I spent 2 hours on the phone with Aritxa doing remote support via LogMeIn to try and resolve an issue she has with a service called "Frostwire" and the Java Runtime Environment
• Installed VMware fusion on Hermes my MacBook Pro and then I installed Windows XP on it.  It worked perfectly and runs really, really fast.  Nice!
• A.J. has NOT replacxed his T-Mobile Sidekick and does not currently have a cellphone. It's a horrible situation.
• BLACK Scrabble.  Bert was really down.  I won one out of three.
