Eventful Tuesday

What a day.

In a nutshell:

• Bert Rojas turns 40.  Ha!  Hi, Bert!
• He has a Colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow.
• The wife seems happier.  She is talking about purchasing Real Estate.
• Feliz goes to her first doctor's visit.  Her EKG is perfectly normal. Very good news.
• Isa is really sick with a cold.  She is currently obsessing over Sebastian, her grandson.
• Work is sort of OK.  Rumors and emails about "voluntary terminations" are flying hot and heavy.
• I still need to re-org my office to get my treadmill put in it.
• There is a current issue (Drama) involving Aldo and his getting approval from his P.O. for his trip to Las Vegas.
• I haven't talked to my brother Pete in more than a week.  Sucks.
• I ordered a replacement case for my Blackberry 8300 today.
• I took a short nap in the afternoon.
• Today I found out that my Walker,Treadmill is busted.  Dammit.
• I made a trip to the Apple store in MB tonight to get a an MS Keyboard/Mouse combo.  No luck.  I decided to order it on-line.
• To cap off the night, I had a late, light dinner at Denny's on Rosecrans.

Crazy Monday

Worked from Carson, staying in the office until 1630.  Of course, there was even further drama from my wife.  That is why I stayed at work until 1630, to avoid the drama.

In another sign of the further decline of Project POLGVB, Daniel Fajardo killed the 310-672-2668 line at La Gran Via. How utterly fucking depressing, really.

To add frosting to the cake, the DOW JONES CRASHED 777 points this afternoon after failure of the massive $700 Billion bail-out plan.  Later in the evening, my mom stopped by to pick me up and we made a quick run to 7-11 for some coffee supplies.  I then had a nice, calming TV watching session with her.

Christ, things are really bad.

Fuck.

Feliz returns from Colima

Spent the morning at home today before meeting AJ, his girlfriend and my wife at LAX to pick up my mother-in-law from her flight in from Guadalajara.  She is back home with us to get checked out by doctors on her multiple health issues, including her heart, diabetes, leg pain, etc.

I spent the afternoon and early evening in my office, taking the time to move the bookcase with my Wired magazine collection in to the closet. 

I also spent a total of about three hours on three separate support phone calls with my uncle Orlando, helping him print CD's.

Life

• Breakfast at Piggies today was followed with a trip to HP to serve as a witness on a document that needed to be faxed and FedEx'd to someone. That all took place without problems.
  
• AJ got a "zero" haircut today and played in his weekly soccer match.
  
• Today was the 3rd day in a row that I didn't see Isa...
  
• Dinner at Asela's was very nice.  Patty locked her keys in her Escalade and I had the bright idea of calling OnStar and having them unlock her car.  They did that and it was very painless to do...
  
• Project POLGVB is still in the mud, unfortunately.
  
• Arrived in Palos Verdes to play Scrabble @ 2020.

Moving along

To Sum:

• All day working in Carson today
• Bakery deal is REAL DEAD. Daniel & Benny had a blow-up recently and now Daniel states he won't sell to us for $300,000, even.  Asshole.
• Isa went to the Chiropractor's for a visit.  She got good news, so far.
• Reyna offered to let me buy a laptop.  Cool.
• I had dinner with Bert & Patty at Benihana's.  Good stuff, as usual.
• Scrabble was cool.  I lost both games, but I had a I had a good conversation with Bert about the Bakery.

Another Tuesday

Worked in Carson all day today... And I didn't manage to go see my sister Isa.  I got so involved at work that I had a late lunch (+1500) at the Boston Market.  I watched the "All the President's Men" DVD in snatches from my office this afternoon.

In the early evening, I drove over to Office Depot and bought myself two lamps:  One was an ordinary desk lamp and the other was a magnifying lamp, one of those with a nice, big lighted magnifying glass and a long neck.  It ought to come in handy for reading small print on stuff.

After the Office Depot trip, I drove over to Denny's and had a late supper of pancakes.  I then came back home and stayed in my office until 2325 watching "All the President's Men" until it ended.

Note: A.J. and Cindi went to the Dodger game tonight and saw Tom LaSorda.  Neat.

Busy, busy.

Updating my life:

• Crazy-ass lunch at Isa's house.  Rushed over there to pay for the food and I almost missed the Pizza Hut delivery guy.  I got there in time tho and paid for the food and everything was well.
• Bought Isa the Sex and the City: The Movie the EXTENDED version.
• Corrected the Money Order transfer for Rosa in Colima at the Hawthorne post office.
• Ordered Bert's birthday present today.  A Raquet ball glove and two cans of raquet balls.
• Had a great dinner at Benihana with Mom, A.J. and CIndi.  Good stuff.

After dinner, the kids dropped me and mom off at Mom's for the customary TV watching and bonding visit.

Project POLGVB: It never stops. The Drama, that is.

Project POLGVB Status:

• More Drama. Forced to look for alternate bakeries.  (Pete found 'em).
• Daniel "wants to wait" to sell.  He's being a total JERK.

I can't see how the deal is ever going to get done.  There are confusing signals, with rumors of Ofelia telling Mauricio at the Jose Marti that he should talk to my wife to convince her to buy.

Life

Worked from home today. 

Had breakfast at Denny's and then paid a visit to the Apple store in Manhattan Village Mall to see an Apple Genius about getting my Time Capsule to work correctly.

He explained to me exactly what I needed to do to get the 1 TB hard disk recognized all of the time and it made sense to me.  Hopefully, this will take care of the issue with the irritating "iPhoto cannot locate your library" pop-up that I get on occasion because the Time Capsule is asleep and Zeus does not know it.

After the Apple store visit, I had lunch with Isa, stopping by Best Buy to buy the Sex and The City: The Movie DVD for her.  She was very happy to get it. It's always a great feeling when you give someone a gift and they really like it.

Ordinary Monday

Spent the afternoon with Isa at Digna's celebrating her 93rd birthday with a small cake and ice cream.  Maza was there and we had an overall good time.

Later in the evening, I had dinner with Reyna @ Versailles. The food was good and the ambiance was fine.  After dinner, I stopped by Mom's for my usual "watch TV and bond" moment.

All in all, it was an uneventful Monday.
