Amazing.
I just finished what is hopefully my last transaction with the loan-sharks over at Applied Card Bank.
I have spent the last 6 months attempting to CANCEL my account with them and failing to do so because of interminable waits on their "customer service" line and execrable website that of course, has no links anywhere that I could find to CANCEL your account.
After making me stew through 20+ minutes of unbearable ads while on hold, paying the balance on the card over the phone cost me $12.95. 13 fucking dollars to process a payment over the phone! The uncaring automaton on the phone snickered that I could do it on-line for just $6.95, if I so chose.
Don't get me started on their pathetic attempt at E-Commerce. Their website is beyond horrible.
I spent nearly 15 minutes attempting to register my card there in order to just CANCEL IT, and the piece of shit coding on the site, kept TIMING OUT and making me START OVER. I swear they must be doing it on purpose so that people get tired or frustrated and just give up trying to interact electronically with them.
I kept him on the phone and stated to him to CANCEL MY ACCOUNT. He stated that he did so and that I would be getting a notice in the mail to that effect and stating that the account had been paid in full in about 2 weeks.
I will check in 2 weeks to see if the account is closed, and if it is not, I fully intend to file a complaint with the better business bureau and keep blogging about it until someone does something about it.
Oh, by the way, these bastards charge an annual APR of 29.99%.
Stay away from Applied Card Bank. If you open an account with them, you will live to regret it and will find it nearly impossible to CANCEL the account if you need to do so.

I just called up and canceled my account. The representative said they would take my secure deposit, pay off the balance with it, and send me the difference. We'll see how it goes, but so far, so good!

THIS BANK DOES SUCK. MY OPINION FOR ANY ONE WHO IS CONSIDERING AN ACCOUNT THERE DON"T DO IT. I HAVE ONE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE TRIES TO MAKE IDIOTS OUT OF YOU. INSULTING YOUR INTELLIGENCE.I'VE PAID MY BILL ON TIME AND WAS CHARGED A LATE FEE AND WHEN CALLING THEM ON IT WOULD NOT REVERSE IT. WAS TOLD TO WRITE A LETTER. THATS BULL SHIT BECAUSE THEY THINK THE CUSTOMER WON'T PURSUE IT AND FORGET ABOUT IT AFTER UNWILLING CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS BLOW YOU OFF.

I just don't understand here, Applied Credit Card is giving those of us that have been irresponsible in the past a 2nd chance and I don't think anyone here was complaining when opening an account with them. Understand that they are giving us that are HIGH RISK a second chance. My husband and I have an Applied Credit Card and are fully aware of the high interest and the consequences for being late. This is the price we are paying for our irresponsibility in the past. Remember we have to earn that trust again. We had a bit of a rocky start because we went crazy charging on it. We were late and they did call over and over again but understand they are dealing with HIGH RISK customers who have just taken their money. We did talk to them and got it straightened out and they were not rude if you are up front and honest with them. They also did not report us to the credit bureau to which we are extremely thankful. Now that we are caught up on the account it has been great and we are now using it to our advantage to up our credit score. I am extremely grateful to Applied Credit. Once our credit is repaired enough We will ask that they lower the interest rate. We are so happy with them that we are now starting a savings and checking with them and also starting my son on they youth savings so he can learn responsibility at a young age and not make mistakes we have. I think it is sad that again Applied Credit gets bashed so badly. Remember they are the ones not getting paid here. And I am sure it is stories they have heard over and over again as to why people can't pay, I know. I would rather go with out electricity or cable than not pay my Applied Credit Card because good credit is worth gold. So everyone needs to stop for a minute and think about what you are saying. Applied Credit Card gave us a second chance and you decide not to pay them back their money and you make all the excuses, they are rude, they call to much, I don't like their website, the wait is to long on the phone, I have coverage I paid for in case of an emergancy but no proof I paid it. Just stop and think. Pay your bill, if you don't like the interest don't open the account or keep your bill lower so that its not so bad. We all made terrible mistakes in the past we can't expect to get a high limit with a low interest. I opened this account because I needed that second chance and I don't blame them for not trusting me. If everyone did what you people do there would be no second chances and workers at Applied Credit wouldn't get paid. I just know that no matter how high the interest or how rough it was in the begining, I will always be grateful to Applie Credit. And no I do not work for Applied Credit, my husband and I are customers, that is another good excuse not to take responsibility and it's probably that attitude that got you into a bad situation. And you will keep getting yourself into the same situations in the future.

my husband has an account with applied bank. due to me becoming disabled we have fell behind on this card. i have been paying them more than the minimum payment was before this happened for 6 months but have never been able to catch up. we were suppose to be enrolled into a plan that would help us get caught back up and that after we made the payment amount they told us to for 6 months the account would be current again. well 6 months is up and now the balance is twice what it was before this happened due to all the fees and high interest added and is getting bigger every month. when we called to ask them what happened they said we were never in a program at all and they didnt know what i was talking about! they want a payment of 625.00 right now and there is no way i can pay it. to make matters worse they call me constantly wanting to talk to my husband while he is at work. i had to change my home phone number because thay called me 44 times in a little over 3 hours, not counting the calls we recieved on our cellphone. i am trying to find a way to pay this card off but it seems immpossible. they are liars and very rude, stay away from this creditor!!!!!!

They never did so now they say I owe then $135.00 which I refuse to pay. Now they call me 32 times a day. they are the biggest assholes ever. They don't liten to you and are rude!

So let me get this straight, your late with your payment and you cry, you don't pay and you cry, you short your payment and cry. How about this, be responsible, pay at least your minimum ON TIME and guess what, no problems. I have credit problems also, but I don't blame the card companies for my irresponsible behavior. Take some responsibility for your actions.
