Getting Sick
I can't express how annoying this is. I have the "crushed glass in the bones, achey, sneezy, hurts-in-the-chest dry cough" syndrome.
It seems to be going around, and will problably get much worse before it gets better. At least the 4th of July weekend is coming up. Hopefully, I can get rid of this crap before I return to work next Tuesday 7/5/05.
SupportSOFT Project: Live at long last
Today, Thursday 6/30/05, we have finally gone live on the chat-support project at work. Nothing has happened. I got a test chat from a sys admin just after 6:00 A.M. and then bupkus. It is now 12:31 P.M. and I am still waiting for my 1st legitimate chat...
Bert's PC
Fought with Bert's Den PC last night for about 2 hours. Flakey as hell, would not recognize the Linksys WUSB11 (ver2.8) Wireless USB Network Adapter that I connected to it, would not power up at random times, just acting like something is wrong with the Motherboard.
I spoke with Bert in the morning and he gave the go-ahead to replace the Motherboard, as this has quickly devolved into the "Blackhole of Timeā¢", as so many of the projects that I do for Bert turn into.
So, depending on how I feel after work, I am going to go to PC Club and pick up a replacement M/B for the PC and then work on installing it as I feel up to it...
Gnomedex 5
Meanwhile, on the Podcasting front, there was a TREMENDOUS VIBE surrounding the Gnomedex 5.0 Conference that took place in Seattle this past weekend. Sponsored by Microsoft, Yahoo!, Google, PubSub and other industry heavyweights, it was a watershed for this conference and was attended by almost 400 people.
This conference was blogged, podcasted and imaged up the ying-yang, so those of us that could not be there will at least be able to live vicariously thru the people that were fortunate enough to be there in person...
I had made plans earlier in the year to go to it, but then with one thing and another, I could not plan for it. I really hope to be able to go to Gnomedex 6.
Chris Pirillo, Dave Winer, Adam Curry, Doug Kaye, Steve Gilmore and a bunch of other Podcasting / Blogging / RSS luminaries were there and had quite a bit to say about this nascent technological revolution and where it might be headed in the near future.
It pains me greatly that I missed that conference, alas...
